Just a quick update at the moment.
Weather is not as warm as it has been here today, we had a downpour last night at about 9pm which is 8pm UK time. we got very wet but the spirit of Scouting continues...
Some groups joined with our friends from Germany around a local camp fire and had a great time. We look forward to the International camp fire tonight when all campers are invited to attend at the camp fire circle... have a look on the picture site tommorrow ...
It is the last activity day for Groups and Units as when they return for their days out they will be kept busy with tidying up theur respective sites and then in the morning stricking camp and boarding their coaches at about 12.45pm leaving here at 1pm (12pm UK time).
We have had a great week with those who are here and we look forward to next week with our new arrivals who should be with us an hour or so after the departing coaches have left... just time for a coffee and a quick clear-up!
Here are some quotes from young people after some of their activities during the week...
"The rafting on the river aare was awesome because I got pushed in the water so much. The river was so fast you didn’t have to swim and you could relax."
Christie – Banstead Scouts
"The best bit was when the raft hit a large wave under a bridge and we all got thrown off."
Beth, David and Jamie – West End Scouts
"The Simmi rafting was an amazing experience, my best boat ride ever."
Alex Gill – 5th Addlestone Scouts
"The thermal pools were very relaxing and it really made a difference swimming in warm water rather than cold rivers."
Emily Collins Wingate – 1st Fernhurst
So, until later or even tomorrow, we send everyone our best..
Mike (Media & PR Team)
